Her research interests are in theoretical computer science as well as other areas at the intersection of computer science and mathematics. She learned about the “3SUM Conjecture” when she took a course in computational complexity theory in her freshman year and her subsequent research on that problem has led to important new results that were published the 42 International Symposium on Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science in 2017.Xinyu Wu is a senior at Carnegie Mellon University majoring in computer science and mathematical sciences.
His research focus is on active perception for visual recognition and object manipulation.
Currently, he is working towards unsupervised visual representation learning using view prediction.
This award program recognizes undergraduate students in North American colleges and universities who show outstanding research potential in an area of computing research. Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs and Microsoft Research are sponsors in alternate years.
